CLSA-HDRN Canada collaboration enables linkage of CLSA data with provincial health-care registries to facilitate research and health-care policy making in Canada

by

A partnership between the CLSA and Health Data Research Network (HDRN)Canada has culminated in an invaluable opportunity for Canadian researchers. The CLSA data linkage team is currently working with the HDRN Data Access Support Hub (DASH) team to facilitate access to CLSA cohort data linked with provincial administrative health data.

Beginning in 2024, researchers will be able to apply to access linked CLSA cohort data at three provincial data centres: Population Data BCICES (Ontario), and the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB IRDT), as per data access policies of participating data centres and the CLSA.

The linkage of longitudinal CLSA data with multiregional administrative health data offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore the intersection between aging and health-care utilization.
