On Wednesday, December 7th, the 17th Annual General Meeting was held at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, with the Co-Presidents, Mary Hellin and Malcolm Stewart, presiding. Reports were presented by the Treasurer, Bernard Brulé, the Age-Friendly Project Chair, Lilian Wells, who also reported on External Relations, and the Communications Co-Chair, Debby Vigoda. The slate was presented and duly elected by the membership.
The TCA Presidents’ Award, given to recognize outstanding contributions to the work of the Council, was awarded to Barbara Shearer, (in absentia), former Executive Assistant. The Angel Award for Outstanding Assistance to TCA was given to Stacey Landau, Executive Director of SPRINT, who, in her remarks, indicated that TCA will be moving along with SPRINT, to whatever the location the city of Toronto determines.
The Keynote Speaker was Akua Carmichael, LLB, who spoke on “Legacy Planning”.
