Akua Carmichael is an estate lawyer, author and speaker with a law practice focused primarily on estate litigation. She also offers estate planning seminars and presentations and her experience includes having worked in the private wealth management industry with a major Canadian financial institution.
Akua, a gifted speaker and presenter, is fluent in English, French and Spanish and is often called upon to speak about estate and trust issues. She has also made television appearances on local programs to discuss estate law. She has published articles dealing with estates and trust matters in “Advisors Edge Report” and other publications. Akua is also the authors of an estate planning manual and workbook titled “M Lifeprint…My plan for the financial and emotional well-being of my loved ones and causes”.
Akua received her BA (Hons) from Queen’s University in 1994. She obtained two law degrees, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Windsor, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1999. Akua was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

In this presentation, Will and Estate Planning lawyer, Akua Carmichael will share her knowledge about estate planning and the importance of having an up to date plan. Akua will also introduce a non-traditional approach to estate and legacy planning and provide important tips and strategies about how to create a plan that addresses both the financial and emotional well-being of your loved ones and causes.
