Welcome to the July 2023 edition of the Ontario Age-Friendly Communities Outreach Program’s newsletter! We are excited to bring you the latest age-friendly news, events, and resources. In this issue, you will find some inspiring examples of age-friendly programs and initiatives including two news stories on the Cycling without Age program in Vancouver and the Lifeguarding at any Age program in Clarington.
Did you know there is a free, confidential “warm line” for older Ontarians, 55+ who just want to chat with a friendly person who cares, without expectations or judgment? The program is called ‘A Friendly Voice’ and is open seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern. The volunteers at ‘A Friendly Voice’ can offer an empathetic ear and good conversation.
