We’re sharing three upcoming films that offer thoughtful, compelling portrayals of aging, creativity, and life in later years.

Together, these films highlight different perspectives, whether it is pushing creative boundaries, living with intention, or navigating long-term partnership.

A spirited group of seniors take on an unexpected challenge: creating their own horror film.

Set in a retirement community, Silver Screamers follows older adults stepping outside their comfort zones to explore creativity, collaboration, and storytelling in a completely new way. The result is both humorous and inspiring.

A short film, The Rug, will follow the screening, along with a post-screening discussion with director Sean Cisterna and participants.

Sun, Apr 5, 4:00 PM & Sat, Apr 11, 7:00 PM

Winner of Hot Docs 2025 Best Canadian Feature, this documentary offers a quiet portrait of 90-year-old Agatha Bock and her life on a family farm in southern Manitoba.

Through daily routines of growing, harvesting, and preserving, the film reflects on independence, aging, and living in rhythm with nature.

“Excellent… a powerful insight into a life shared by two charismatic creatives.” – The Guardian

This intimate documentary follows artist Maggie Barrett and her husband, photographer Joel Meyerowitz, as they navigate caregiving, aging, and the realities of a long life together.

It’s a deeply personal look at love, vulnerability, and partnership in later years.
