As part of Seniors Month, the Toronto Council on Aging is pleased to partner with No More Silent Battles to present a special virtual screening and discussion on dementia care, caregiving, and advocacy.
About the Film
No More Silent Battles is a powerful documentary directed and produced by Dr. Jenny Ingram, a renowned Geriatric Medicine Specialist and longtime advocate for older adults.
The film follows four families as they navigate the realities of dementia care, highlighting the emotional and practical challenges of the disease, the critical role of home care providers, and the growing need for policies and services that better support individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
Through personal stories and lived experiences, the documentary explores the impact dementia has on families and communities while encouraging important conversations about the future of dementia care in Canada.
About the Discussion
Following the screening, participants will have the opportunity to join a live Q&A and discussion with Dr. Jenny Ingram.
Dr. Ingram has spent her career advancing senior care in Ontario through initiatives including the Kawartha Centre and GAIN Geriatric teams. Her work has helped improve care for older adults and elevate the voices of families navigating complex care systems.
Dementia Care Can't Wait
Beyond the documentary, the No More Silent Battles initiative advocates for reforms aimed at strengthening home care, improving support for caregivers, and creating a more coordinated approach to dementia care.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about these advocacy efforts and participate in a conversation about how communities can better support older adults and their families.
