The Toronto Council on Aging participated in the Davisville Community Festival on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at June Rowlands Park. The festival brought together community members and organizations from across the city for an afternoon of connection and learning.

Representing TCA were Ann Marie Yamamoto, Co-President, Aarani Sivasekaram, Vice President, and Jennifer Howlett, volunteer. They shared information about TCA's programs, volunteer opportunities, and ongoing initiatives to promote an age-friendly Toronto. Residents were invited to complete a brief community poll asking what works well in the city and what could be improved for older adults.

Key themes that emerged from the responses included:

  • More affordable housing and senior-specific shelters

  • Safer crossings and expanded bike lanes

  • Easier access to city inform

ation for residents who are not online

  • More community art programs and opportunities for social connection

  • More job and internship opportunities for older adults

We extend our thanks to everyone who visited the booth, shared their ideas, and expressed interest in volunteering or serving on our Board. Community input remains at the heart of how TCA advocates for older adults across Toronto.
